Not a SCC ride but may be of interest. The Monsal Trail runs from Bakewell approx. 9 miles towards Buxton along an old railway, over viaducts crossing rivers and valley, through several tunnels which are all surfaced and many with electric illumination. The ride had an incredible Coffee and Cake per mile ratio :-) Its a great little ride, ideal for families and kids and esp spouses who dont like hills, lol! The trail is also very popular with ramblers clubs (who all seem to lack a sense of spatial awareness) when, and heaven forbid a cycle bell would be useful! vimeo/110489572
