Not a day goes by that I dont think about the friends and family - TopicsExpress

Not a day goes by that I dont think about the friends and family that visited mom in the hospital and funeral home; those who brought food; and those who sent cards or messages (even all the way from Honduras); and those who gave us money for our plane tickets. I am the worlds worst about sending handwritten notes, but I have this on my to-do list. Mom would have been very happy in the way that we honored her during her last hours at the hospital, in her obituary, and at the funeral. Tim Harris captured every detail that we shared with him and delivered a beautiful eulogy and funeral. He even wore purple, moms favorite color. During the funeral service, Tim read a handwritten poem that I found amongst moms things. He also read scripture that she had written on the reverse side from 2 Corinthians 4. At the graveside service, we honored mom in another special way. Tim read a passage from my dads Methodist Ritual. Now try to imagine this. Were all seated under a tent at the graveside awaiting final words from Pastor Tim. Before Tim read the passage, he told everyone present that it was the first time in his career as a Baptist pastor to read from a Methodist Ritual at a funeral. My older brother, Sam Boles, shouted in a loud voice, Well, PRAISE THE LORD! We all cracked-up because of the timing. It wasnt that Sam was pleased that a Baptist pastor was reading from a Methodist book; he was very emotional that our dad was with us in a special way. So, heres whats going on now. With the help of family, I am packing-up moms house while I await a court hearing to be named executor of moms estate. I cant wait to get to Honduras, but I feel that I need to fulfill moms wishes and oversee these details. Kelly returned to Honduras yesterday and I will hopefully get to return in a week or two.
