Not a terribly big deal in the overall scheme of things and this post wont make the evening news, end up in the newspaper or inspire a Hollywood movie. However, 20 years ago today, Jess and I managed to get our license, a witness and a justice of the peace to sign off on a union that was by all accounts and statistically speaking, most likely destined to fail. Two young kids, one new to the Air Force and the other still in high school, both of us supremely confident as we were naive (remember my mad and nervous giggles throughout the ceremony and she still said, I do!). All I wanted and needed then was for her and I to be together and in that aspect, nothing has changed. Jessica Martin Billings, you have always been my true north, my sole purpose to improve, the measure of my success and I couldnt have navigated the last 20 years without having you to point to. Im so incredibly honored to be your husband, to have basked in 20 years of your shiny smiles, mad laughter and love. I love you devil woman!!! Happy 20th anniversary Jessica Martin Billings!
