Not all Republicans are racists, but if youre a racist, youre probably a Republican. My dear friend Sagar Sane is Asheville Democrat Brian Turner for NC House 116s campaign manager. We certainly dont know who made this disgusting meme, but given the kind of person you have to be to know who the Campaign Manager is in a single small race, this is unlikely to be far removed from the core leadership of the Buncombe County Republicans, who were just featured on the Daily Show last year referring to lazy blacks in regard to voting rights. Its a testament to Sagars skill that Brians success is engendering this xenophobic response aimed at scaring rural white voters away from Democrats. One of the reasons I support the Democratic Party is because, despite the imperfections of its past and present, it is a space that aspires to build a country where no one is written off just because of who they are. The consistent patterns of todays Republican Party demonstrate that they have nothing to offer anyone that shares that vision. They demonstrated it once again today. Keep up the good work, Brian and Sagar.
