Not enough people know about this symbol. Its the Arabic letter nun - first letter in the word Nazarene - and its the symbol used to mark the homes of Christians in the Middle East. Recently this happened in the Iraqi city of Mosul, so that Christian homes could be identified, and their inhabitants bullied, tortured, and ultimately driven from their homes by the radical group ISIS. The last Iraqi Christians there are leaving their 1600-year-old community now, under threats of continued violence and death if they stay. Communities and churches that have stood for centuries are being destroyed, and lives are being ruined in the rush to expel Christians from the area. This isnt covered in the news as it ought to be. If you see this symbol, take a second to think about those whose homes, cultural identities, careers, and lives have been erased, all because of their religious affiliation. Pray for unity and an end to violence between people of different faiths.
