Not everyone carries a briefcase... but that doesnt mean they dont have a valuable, worthwhile, rewarding job. Our nation NEEDS skilled workers - welders, steel workers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters and construction workers, machinists... Young friends getting ready to launch yourselves into the workforce (and a few who have tried and not gotten very far), dont look down on the trades as a means of providing yourself with a good life. Very likely a skilled worker is going to start out making far more than a college grad. While some studies say that college grads overall make more money than people in the trades, I know many in the trades who have retired or will retire soon with a good income, after having built themselves a nice lifestyle over the years. The key? Being a good, consistent worker. And thus endeth todays sermon.
