Not everything we give to God gets accepted by God.Many times, we give with a heart of bitterness when compelled but God has never wanted you and me to give anything to him while gripping about the same. Whenever you want to give and find your heart bitter,un-giving and hostile to the gift you are being compelled to give, that is the time to return your money to your pocket.God has never wanted us to give under pressure. He says Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.[2 Corinthians 9:7] When it comes to giving, the best way is always plan from your house what you have decided to give to God. Its unfortunate to go to some churches and all you get is the pressure on how much you should give, but let me tell you this brethren, as long as you have given your tithe as the Lord directed, any other giving is voluntary, and not worthy any pressure.Thats why its called an offering ..You PAY your tithe, its mandatory but any other amount you give, should be from a willing heart and out of love to the Lord, who gives us all things to enjoy. In Genesis 4, the bible introduces us to the 1st givers in scripture. It says When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the Lord. Abel also brought a gift—the best of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected. Abels sacrifice to God was accepted but Cains rejected. [Genesis 4:3-5] This scripture to me reveals a lot. Abel took the best[firstborn Lamb] to God with a cheerful heart but Cain took SOME of his crops! Cain must have had such a long debate within on what to give, even though he was not willing, thus the decision to give some.Maybe he also felt a shamed to see his brother prepare a sacrifice to give to God,thus he reluctantly did his part, with no heart for it.I think that is what we do in our churches most of the time.We give when the pressure is to much from some of this pastors, not that we want to give, but for the sake of your name, you just give reluctantly. God never accepts such offerings. He wants us to give with a cheerful heart and not with a bitter, resentful heart Saint of God,have you ever given reluctantly or felt compelled to give above what you had set for your God? Just know that God never accepts such offerings. Let your giving be a decision you make voluntarily and in your house before you step out of the door to go to church. God always wants our sacrifices to him produce a sweet aroma, just as Abels was. Give him the best if you want but let it never be under pressure.God bless you
