Not for all. Friends, celebration doesnt mean partying, the word - TopicsExpress

Not for all. Friends, celebration doesnt mean partying, the word which some of us understand as enjoying by dancing, drinking, or listening to music! Friends, in acceptable and meaningful way, I celebrate or rather commemorate my birthday, our national holidays, the foundation day of my alma mater, and even the Araw ng Lanao Del Sur---my province, and every little success I achieve! In these celebrations, the gist or point is not the days, the non-working holidays, for they dont really count much. The thing important is actually the way how we make sense of the stories and lessons we learn from those years or from those whose lives we celebrate. Also, in these holidays, it is a good opportunity as it is emotionally-charged moment to creatively reinforce our commitment towards creating a wholesome, happy, and peaceful life in both personal and societal levels. Friends, those of you who asked me about Mawlid--- I am not hypocrite--- I tell you I commemorate the birthday of the Prophet in a way meaningful and beneficial, at least to me, ha. And I speak for myself! I wont say: it is a tradition that is practiced in the early days, for I know there wasnt, e wala ngang happy birthday cake at that time, 😁. Also, I dont discuss this activity or celebration only in a strict religious manner, but rather, sociologically, anthropologically, and psycho-spiritually. So, practically, I stay away from the fundamental debate: is celebrating Mawlid halal, haram, makruh, mustahab, or whatever? If theres a debate, then I think it should focus on how we should celebrate the mawlid. Really, this time, as you know that the overall life of man, is spiritually challenged and attacked by countless social medias and activities, I suggest that you dont tell me that it is heinous a crime to commemorate my birthday, and of course, the Prophets. And you dont tell me that anyone who does this will surely go to hell. It is better that you rather tell me that I wont get any reward nor punishment. Or still, it is OK to tell me that it could be like sleeping or action devoid of meaningful intention, which of course I tend to believe the opposite. Pure intention is OK, but never enough in giving a dawah to me, my friend! Better, watch out! #BackToLife! I stand to be corrected
