Not gonna lie, I should NOT have read the Yahoo comments on the Garner case. Are people honestly serious when they say he shouldnt have been selling cigarettes or well, folks, this is what happens when you dont have a regular job. DONT. Selling cigarettes is NOT a death sentence! The police do not exist to act as judge and jury. Thats not their position. They are here to PROTECT and SERVE all citizens of this great nation, right? So how can they be so trigger happy and quick to kill someone for a misdemeanor. How can so many people believe that it was justified to choke a man for selling cigarettes, even if that were illegal! Prostitution is illegal, having more then one friend in the back seat of your car without a passenger when you dont have a chauffeuring license, thats illegal - we need to use our common sense! Dont use someone elses murder to justify your damn political agenda and see facts and sense here, the cop MURDERED someone. The CORONER agrees! And the police chief has the audacity to say that they were looking for a political witch-hunt, are you serious? They are coroners - they have a report to file and they dont give a shit about your dirty cops. Im glad people are protesting. Everybody sitting in their houses, saying between these four very recent cases, nothing is wrong can stay sitting there and talking shit while everyone else who KNOWS something is wrong is out there changing it. If I can help it, Ill have everyone know that I think that police officer was guilty. He is a police officer, and dangerous situations are a part of the job description but not only is that what he signed up for, it should be what he is PREPARED for. Killing when they feel threatened, thats what an untrained civilian is expected to do, not a trained officer of the law with the tools to keep someone at bay. We have military saying they are concerned about how police officers treat citizens as the enemy. Im not anti-police when they follow the U.S constitutions Magna Carta: No one is above the law. I know there are good cops, but there are dirty cops. Until cops as a profession are indicted on the same grounds as citizens, it makes it very difficult to distinguish between the two and brings up the ultimate concern of what happens if I run into the latter (which defeats the purpose of having them at all.) FYI: People saying, the cops said do it, just do it or this is what happens - no, thats how you lead them to a sense of empowerment. Cops are humans, and they are citizens, and you have every RIGHT to question what theyre doing and not follow blindly. Drop to the floor and put your hands behind your head, if its not obvious and your life isnt at risk, youd better give me a damn good reason why or my knees wont be willingly touching the pavement. I will not feed into that obey or die bullshit. Remember, We will sell to no man, we will not deny or defer to any man either justice or right.
