Not good. These huge, round buckles are oft seen on pirate wannabees. Many of them are really made for horse tack. Now, I understand that many would-be pirates think of themselves as stud stallions, but in the 22 years Ive been researching and making historic style buckles, Ive never seen a round one made for a belt of more than an inch or so width. If anyone can prove me wrong by posting some actual research material, such as a picture of a real 17th century artifact of this type....extra large, Ill award them three cast silver 8 Reale cobbs (suitably marked copy to avoid any misunderstandings). Otherwise, wear a baldric buckle of an elongated or Double D type for a wide baldric.
