Not knowing who might be reading my FB page, there are things I never post. I do not say bad things about other human beings -- unless they are public figures who should know better. (If they are people who have offended me, I grit my teeth and use them as the model for someone horrible in a story.) I do not discuss finances. Not mine, not anyone elses. I do not mention major purchases unless I am looking for advice from qualified people. I do not discuss vacations or outings, until AFTER the fact. If at all. I do not brag about awards or nominations or honors of any kind. If I must mention them, I will do so as modestly as possible. It is more important that the work speak for itself. I do not open a vein and bleed into the keyboard. If Im going to open a vein, I will do so in a story or book that I intend to get paid for. I do not post anything that I would be ashamed to see on the front page of the New York Times. If more people did that, Facebooks traffic would drop 90% in a week.
