Not long finished reading this and I must recommend it. Very refreshing introduction to approaching the bible through the lens of literary study. It has made me see some of the stories, characters and authors in whole new ways. It moves beyond using the texts as history (although it never rejects the bibles authenticity or historical accuracy) and examines narrative, plot, character, genre. Yet it also explores theological implications. Very enlightening and enriching.
