Not many grower cooperatives make it to 100 years. Yet, the Butte County Rice Growers Association has managed to keep growers together. Check out vintage photos online in the story below. It all started out with a tight-knit group of families who learned their only option on tough soil was to grow rice. Through generations the cooperative has grown as expanded, as have the rice-growing families.
