Not much can be said about the new Captain America movie without giving away spoilers, which I wont do here. If you didnt already know the secret identity of the Winter Soldier, then you probably didnt know that Lokis poky stick is an Infinity Gem, or that the shield is actually made from a little bit of adamantium. The good news is that you probably dont care. Fortunately there are plenty of other things to like about this straight-up super-spy flick where characters leap off of the colorful comic book covers to inhabit the real world; a muted, shaky-cam world where - gasp! - powerful shadow government organization MAY in fact have dubious intentions that arent quite in our best interest...!!! All performances are glorious here and its great to see Samuel L Jackson finally getting some interesting things to do. Evans plucky Cap meets his match in a villain with intro music that rivals the Heath Ledger Jokers dull strings. Listen for it; it sounds, appropriately, like someones brain is screaming. Good job as usual, Marvel. Make sure to tell Disney, Youre welcome.
