Not necessarily a rip off per se, but really crappy customer service! I just went to video world, from which I have rented from in the past year quite a few times. I was told that I had a $19 past due charge for Harry Potter from 2011. I told the guy that I had never rented that movie because I cannot stand the movies and I have rented many times since 2011. He looked at me like I was an idiot and put the movie below the counter. I asked him How do I get around to paying it because he acted as if he was completely done with the transaction and I figured it might have gone to collections. He simply looked at me and said no. I left, furious to have been treated so poorly! I called after I had calmed down somewhat to find out how to contact the owner and find out what I needed to do to take care of the debt. The person answering ended up being the same guy and, from what he said, partial owner. I told him that I had just been in there and needed to find out how to pay the bill. He told me that I had been looking for a way out of paying the debt! I got angry again at that point and told him please dont be an asshole (probably not the best way to deal with it, but seriously? I just wanted to take care of the money issue, even though I wont ever go there again). BTW...he hung up at that point. I cant say I blame him as I was getting pretty irate to have another bout of his rudeness. I seriously will NEVER have anything good to say about that place again and I certainly wont rent from there! Am I in the wrong? Probably partially, but I so need to get this off my chest!
