Not of works, lest any man should boast (Eph. 2:9) meaning If we work, wed boast. I grew up with this notion of working to prove to God that im worthy of His love, mercy and grace and i know a lot of us are like that. Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? (Jn. 6:28). Were always looking for what to do? But dear, hear what our loving saviour said. Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent (Jn. 6:29). Did you notice that Jesus didnt answer their question? He didnt even tell them their work, He told them Gods work meaning that our work is to follow the Holyghost whod do the work of helping us believe. Why? So we wont boast! Halleluyah! Finally, lets go back to Eph 2, verse 10 says For we are His workmanship, created (*already done*) in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath BEFORE ORDAINED that we should walk in them. Glory to God! Christianity is not stressful but stressless. I hope youve received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If not, please pray: O God, im a sinner, ive never realized how much you love me.
