Not once, but twice today, I had patients glued to their phone during their draws. The first guy literally answered his phone TWICE while I was drawing his blood. I was shocked! I mean, really, how rude. Then, the 2nd guy told me to hold on, with his little pointer finger, while I was asking him some pertinent questions pertaining to his draw, and he proceeded to send a text to someone. Are they fricken kidding me? Theyre THAT important that they cant wait two minutes while I complete a medical procedure? Nothing irritates me more than people who do not pay attention to the LIVE person in front of them because their phone is so darned important. People, pay attention to the person helping you. Human contact is being lost, and its very rude. OK, Im done ranting.
