Not only did we have our usual set of amazing volunteers help us build 124 cat shelters at last Saturdays shelter building workshop, we were incredibly pleased to have a whole bunch of volunteers from the Bayview Animal Welfare Committee, from Bayview Secondary School. How awesome is this - the students started the committee at the school because they wanted to proactively make a difference in the lives of animals. One result was they went online and researched Toronto Street Cats and found out about our shelter building workshops and a whole group of them joined us - they worked hard, with incredible energy and talking to them was like talking to the future of animal welfare - it was energizing and exciting to hear young people speak with such passion about how they can help. Hats off to not only their group but the teachers that have encouraged them to follow their passion and to get involved. AWESOME!!!
