Not only do we take the words and actions of others personally, we - TopicsExpress

Not only do we take the words and actions of others personally, we tend to interpret them in the worst possible ways. Strange as it seems, most people go around thinking uncomplimentary things about other people much of the time, justifying their habitual negative emotions through their disparaging thoughts of others. After all, if another does something we consider to be wrong, it offers us an excellent excuse to indulge in our favorite negative emotions. In this way, we lose sight of the beauty and majesty of each moment. Right this moment our inner Self is shining and glorious! We can be our own hero, standing atop our own world, radiating compassion and forgiveness to all those around us. We can be warriors determined to break free from all samskaras (prior conditioning) and the limitations and ignorance they cause. We can live in the awareness of the incredible lightness of our own Being to such a degree that others will be uplifted by our very presence without even knowing why. ~D.R. Butler, excerpted from the lessons of Living in the Truth of the Present Moment (for a free lesson in consideration of taking the course, send an email to drbutler.course@gmail.
