Not only does the church not need us (musicians, music) to encounter God, but we have no ability to facilitate such an encounter. We are not Shamans. We are not witch doctors. We are not Hebrew priests. We are merely broken people who use our skills to serve in a most insignificant way. The veil was torn for a reason, and no man needs to go through another to meet with the Spirit. We have no ability (or need) to summon God. He is always with us. All of us. To think any man can is thinking too much of man and too little of God. So continue to serve, but know your service is insignificant. Remember that worship is not an act, but a lifestyle...
