"Not only has MLB been reluctant to curb the culture of brawling in this era, it has never even attempted to stop the fighting. Unlike the NBA and NHL, baseball has ignored its fights. MLB simply handles them on a case-by-case basis, doling out laughable punishments and fines for major atrocities. Do they happen only sporadically? Sure thing.
