Not only is it expensive to the actual person, but society pays a high cost as well.....the human services budget cuts that many people feel are a good idea, are affecting jobs. Police officers, fire fighters, teachers, hospital staff, many different job titles fall under the human services category. Therefore they have been subject to the budget cuts of the last 2 decades. The cuts affect the poor immediately and then they trickle up (the only time Ive seen the trickle theory work)to the working class and the quickly shrinking middle class. But, the most alarming is the pressure cooker that is building. See, when you STARVE people and keep them from being able to feed their families, they revolt, they start burning down cities, they form a lynch mob and come after the bourgeois. (Think France and the whole let them eat cake or Russia, and the assassination of the ruling family.) And to many, the middle class is the start of the bourgeois. If you want civilization, AND YOU DO, then you have to pay for it!!! And there is plenty of money, we DO NOT have a shortage of money, what we have is a system where some people have to much (and REFUSE TO GIVE BACK, in the form of jobs and taxes, and capital gains taxes) Please vote, and vote with the good of most of the people in this country, not the one per-centers.
