During fight a French soldier fell into the hands of the Moors. The french soldier was a war prisoner. He was taken by the Arabs beyond the falls of Nile. They simply bound his hands and slept away. When the soldier saw that his enemies were no longer watching him, he stole a dagger with his teeth and cut his cords. In a moment he was free, fastened the the dagger to his waist and leaped on a horse. He galloped the horse in the direction where he thought to find the french army. He galloped the horse with such a terrible speed that the horse died on the way. Now he was alone in the desert. The sun was about to set and he decided to find a shelter place. After some time he was succeeded in finding a cave in a nearby rock. Entering into the cave he lay down and slept away with in no time the was so tired. At midnight his sleep was disturbed by an extraordinary noise. He tried to see in darkness. In the light of moon he a panther lying nearby him and its muzzle was smeared with blood. He was frightened and his first desire was to kill the panther but he controlled his desire and passed his hand on its whole body. The panther waved its tail in a loving manner. After seeing its behaviour the soldier think that the panther did not intend to attack him. He sat down without any fear by her side and they started playing together. He think that he has found a friend in this boundless desert. He also started thinking about her body structure and fell in love with her. The panther was too happy in his presence. As the time passed the soldier thought that he had become a slave of her love for him. He wanted to escape from the bandage of her love. One night he tried to escape leaving her alone in the cave, he hardly had covered short distance when he heard the panther bounding after him. The panther seized him by the collar and took him to the cave. The panther was in love with him deeply. One day the soldier was enjoying the weather sitting outside the cave, suddenly he was attracted to an enormous bird flying in the sky. The panther got jealous of it and she caught hold of the soldier leg very gently. The soldier feared with the fear of being eaten away by the panther mis-understandingly. He at once plunged his dagger into her throat and killed her. When he came to know the truth, he repented over it but it was totally useless. This study shows that the panther was in more love with the soldier than the soldier,s love with the panther.
