Not real sure just what I wanna say here.So here goes. Yesterday I lost someone that I really looked up to as I guess you could say a father figure and the man that introduced me to the world of dirt track racing.His name is Chet Hatfield.Chet basically took me as a 12 yr old mechanically inclined and very interested in cars young man under his wing and taught me pretty much the basics of dirt racing on a very small budget.As I got older Chet basically claimed me as one of his own and got to the point he would ask me what I thought about a set up or a mechanical problem.When I got my first stock car you could see the gleem in his eyes like any proud father would have and was usually there to lend a hand or offer some advice.We actually got to race together a couple a times and had a lot of fun and a few laughs after wards.With this being said I would like to say thank you again for teaching me and having the faith in me that you did!!!Rest in Peace Chet and thank you!!! You sure will be missed!!!!
