Not really big on religion or spirituality. But that idea that we are the uiverse experiencing ist self really strikes me in kind of a profound way similar to how I imagine some people feel about the idea of god. Overall I dont think there is any plan or creator or intended order in the universe. Things are as they are. Consciousness within a life form, especially sentiant consciousness , is really an amazing thing. Some people seem to think that that consciousness in one form is something that can be eternal. I dont necessarily think that is is so. You are an ephemeral compliation of bits of the universe that came together in a way that allowed itself to be aware. When die your bits are recycled back into everything and so is your life energy. I think the idea that you dont continue to exist as you forever is terrifying to many people. To me the idea that the construct that is myself even had the chance to exist even for a moment and that I was lucky enough to be part of the universe that got to perceive and contemplate itself is good enough. Eternal consciousness in some afterlife in my opinion seems implausible and also asking for a bit much.
