Not so much a rant today just some self observations. I tuned in off and on all day leading up to the Superbowl but made sure I was comfy in my bed when Queen Latifah started everything off right with America then Renee Fletcher with the National Anthem while I wont rate it the very best ever it certainly was in my top 5! And I began to reflect what sports has meant to me in my life. They were certainly important in our house growing up as my brother played for the upstart Permian Panthers way before MOJO hit. As I was the baby in the family I accompanied my dad to Cowboy games in the cotton bowl and college games all over Texas and of course to many a Permain Panther playoff game as they had come a long way since the opening of the school in 1959. So for me sports are often a reminder of me and my dads closeness but as i was moved to tears by both QL and RF I thought how could any one watching all that pomp and circumstance just not be moved by what America is. Even the snippy little Obama interview before the game where else in the world would you see that , from peyton & Elis somber faces in the waning minutes to the jubliation on the Seahawks bench it was just pure sports and I loved it. I actually wanted Peyton to come out on top in this one but just couldnt help being happy for the Seahawks and their 12th man (even if they did steal that from A&M) Russell Wilson reminds me a lot of Johnny Manziel in his playing style so Manziels status if it wasnt #1 on most peoples draft boards it probably is now. Anyway another Sunday and another SB in the history books and I loved every minute of it as much as I did the first one the Green Bay Packers won!!!!! Weve come a long way baby!
