Not sso natural birth story from fan Emi Lhathrt: I went over my due date much further than intended (42 +5). I had done charting prior to getting pregnant and was sure my due date is earlier than what my doctors gave me. But they would not even want to hear it. So when I was 41+5 according to their schedule, I demanded an NST. We took the bus to San Diego and I had my NST. No one could believe I was still pregnant. Mi intention was to wait for everything to start naturally. After all I had a great pregnancy, and was probably the only pregnant woman that can take hour long walks at 42 weeks....which did sadly not start contractions or get anything going. During the NST, the heartbeat was fine at first but when we were close to leaving it dropped to 50. Everything happened really fast after. Nursing rushed inside and told me to turn into every possible position there is. My husband was just standing there in shock while the nurses were trying to call the doctor, even they were panicking a bit. I was rushed down the hallway and prepped for surgery. I was in total shock, but at least they were able to stabilize the heartbeat again. The doctor said I could try for natural birth, but I did not want to take the risk of my sons heartbeat dropping again. It was down to 50 for quite a while. When he was out I heard someone say "oh, he is really late!"...no s***, thats what I have been saying all along. Turned out the placenta just was not right anymore. It looked quite old. I wanted a natural birth so bad, but really I was just happy that everything went well. Luckily I was able to breastfeed with a lot of patience. My son had a bad latch and it hurt a lot until 5 months postpartum, I had blocked ducts, bloody nipples and a low supply. I still take fenugreek two years later in order to have enough milk but my son is a happy nursling. Healing from the C-Section was not easy. It took me 9 months to feel somewhat pain free and even today I still have minor aches and twinges sometimes. I hope for a VBAC, but I may not even be ready for another pregnancy yet considering the pain *Angel
