Not stopping at anything – Jah Prayzah pulls a masterpiece Tsviriyo DVD High riding contemporary reggae and traditional musician Jah Prayzah on September 30, 2013 released a DVD collection of his successful album Tsviriyo. The DVD is Jah Prayzah’s first collection after single videos released in 2010 and 2011, with tracks “Sungano YeRudo’’ and “Maria’’ respectively. Maria was voted video of the year in 2011 on ZTV. Jah Prayzah, whose real name is Mukudzei Mukombe is upbeat about the DVD collection which was done in High Definition (HD) making the quality exceptional. “The DVD is quite unique in that this is the first time that I have done more than one video from my album, after the singles I did in 2010 and 2011,’’ said the talented vocalist. “In this project I also managed to film all the musicians who featured on Tsviriyo and on all the videos the acts are set in different locations,’’ he said. Musicians like Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Ambassador Alick Macheso, Suluman Chimbetu, Pastor Charles Charamba, Winky D, Peter Moyo, and Kapfupi are all featured in the video which was shot in the densely populated suburb of Mbare, among other sites. Other videos include Machembere recorded in his rural home Uzumba, Mwanasikana (Chihota communal lands), Ngoda (Westgate Harare), yambuka rukova featuring Progress Chipfumo (Ngungunyani Farm), Tsamba (Marondera) are all a marvel to watch. All the videos are in-line with the script of the songs like in the video machembere Jah Prayzah will be clad in a traditional outfit. In most of the videos Jah Prayzah will not be donning his trademark military gear which has become synonymous with the Third Generation Band, thus giving it the thrill to watch song after song. The DVD produced by Slimmerz Productions, is marketed and distributed by Jive Zimbabwe jivezimbabwe, one of Zimbabwe’s leading local music distributors with the widest coverage. Jive Zimbabwe Director, Ben Nyandoro said the project seeks to distribute copies of the DVD countrywide and beyond. “We have a robust distribution network that will see the product reaching all parts of the country and this DVD will be found at each and every major shopping centres, flea markets, and fans can also get it from mobile vendors strategically positioned for the consumer’s convenience,’’ he said. It is a door-step delivery arrangement. Mr Nyandoro added that the DVD is going for only a dollar without compromising on the quality. “Jive Zimbabwe’s primary objective is to ensure that local music is available and affordable to all, as we seek to enhance appreciation of local art and to extend the reach both locally and internationally,’’ said Nyandoro. Jah Prayzah is in glory after the success of his album Tsviriyo, he has become a household name in the local music industry, attracting huge following at his shows.
