Not sure I can say Ive changed my mind, since I honestly deferred forming any real opinion on these matters until I had some kind of actual information as to what its all about. Now that Ive looked for myself at the situation, I gotta say, that 45-foot limit with no recourse for negotiation with developers seems an oversimplified, knee-jerk reaction to those gawdawful anvils which recently dropped on our downtown area. The limit, though well-intentioned, serves only to close doors on thoughtful progress for our town. The key, as I see it, is to maintain as many options as possible, and moving forward, to keep a keen eye on the people we put on the planning boards, watching closely that their intentions remain as pure as they should be. I gladly put my name on this letter.
