Not sure Id agree with the most corrupt ever or most destructive ever characterizations as it would be hard to top some of our prior presidents (like Honest Abe), but it IS a shame that all these scandals and failures are going to mar his presidency and his example. When he was first elected, I blogged that I *wanted* his presidency to be a success so that folks would not tie failure with color. But America loves heros and hero worship. And regardless of his faults, Im sure monuments will be built to the first black president and first woman president. And in both cases, their record will be whitewashed and only their accomplishments mentioned. The temple we built to Abraham Lincoln (complete with larger than life idol inside) are a perfect example. The Apotheosis of Washington is another great example. And Obama will be treated the same. Some people will make SURE of it. And if you oppose sainthood being bestowed, youll be called a racist for doing so.
