Not sure about this one . Yes , ideally the T-2 would be a pretty straight transition from the T-1 but the F-16 would give the Reds a whole new set of limits to their displays . A lightly loaded F-16 has huge reserves of power so the displays could be a lot more aggressive , not to mention that if they did switch to the Viper they would sure show the Thunderbirds a thing or two about display flying . Either way at least there is no mention ( so far ) of them switching to Tucanos...i have a feeling that may be a rant for another day !
