Not sure how accurate this is. I thought I would be closer to Peter, as Ive always thought him to be the type that could easily jump to conclusions, act in haste, frequently not look at things from the scriptural point of view, and occasionally snap off comments that might not be exactly what Jesus would say. (meaning...I am far from perfect....which is where I see John the Baptist being closer to the example he has shown.)
