Not sure if many of you are affected….But news has been leaked this week that the head of the DOT is about to announce that construction on rt. 35 on the barrier island will (shockingly) not be even close to finished by Memorial Day. This means a 3rd summer of business being affected and a 4th potential off season of losing money for local businesss. I know some have talked about starting a sub group to draw attention to this atrocity. How are people supposed to survive for 3-4 years without a chance to make a living? If over business owners are interested I will help organize a social media presence and help organize some meetings to discuss options. Obviously the State, Our Governor and the local municipalities are unable or unwilling to do anything. This does not even take into account the Mathis Bridge Construction slated for 2015 and estimated at 3 years….which at this rate could mean 7. And none even knows or cares about this.
