Not sure if this is true or not but if so its pretty cheap form from Mo Po!! Andros Townsend fears that he has been caught in the middle of a transfer stand-off between Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton over Morgan Schneiderlin that could leave him in limbo. Townsend was left out of Tottenham’s match-day squad for the victory against Queens Park Rangers, despite being fit. Spurs are looking to sell players before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month, but the club rejected a bid from Southampton for Townsend. It is understood that Tottenham are willing to reject all offers from Southampton for Townsend unless they agree to let midfielder Schneiderlin move to White Hart Lane. Southampton have turned down one offer of around £10 million for Schneiderlin, who they value at more than £25 million, and are adamant that he will not be allowed to leave StMary’s this transfer window. Tottenham may look at a loan deal for the former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song if they cannot get Schneiderlin, which would do nothing to help the situation of Townsend. QPR are also interested in Townsend but Harry Redknapp is looking for loan deals and that would not appeal to Spurs and their chairman, Daniel Levy. Unless a deal can be agreed that would take Schneiderlin to Tottenham and Townsend to Southampton, the England international is worried that he faces the prospect of only playing Europa League and cup games for the club he joined as an eight-year-old. Townsend could find starts even harder to come by if Tottenham are successful in their attempts to sell Roberto Soldado and bring in Danny Welbeck, either on loan or on a permanent deal from Manchester United.
