Not that New Zealand has a lot of people in the first place, but when you cross over a mountain and enter a valley that dead-ends into the sea, you REALLY have a sense of tranquil beauty. It never ceases to amaze me that glorious gardens are in every corner of this island nation. As I make my way down the wetter west coast I was greeted with lush forests and my first glimpse of the islands only native palm!
