Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of - TopicsExpress

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; (2 Corinthians 3:5 KJV) At first glance, it may appear that living a Christ like life is an irony or a paradox. Scripture says first shall be last, humbleness brings exaltation, give it away and it will be given to you. It took me a long time to figure this out (and I am still learning), when I have labored and prepared the most and feel the best about something I am going to present in the name of The Lord.... Thats when I make a complete flop of it. On the other hand, when I feel like I am not prepared and must really depend upon the Lord.... Thats when His Spirit can move the greatest. Paul said when I am weak then I am strong. The natural mind cannot comprehend this. It is not by might nor by power but it is by my Spirit saith the Lord. Once we remove ourselves from the equation, Gods solution comes shining through. It is not in our sufficiency, ability, education, charisma, or ideology that brings about the move of God. It is the sovereign work of God himself. Our dependency is in Him. Songs speak to me. Right now is a good place for this one: I thought I could do a lot on my own, I thought I could make it all alone. I thought of myself as a mighty big man, but I cant even walk without you holding my hand. God, forgive me for trying to get into the photograph that is only about you. I step aside and I give you place in my life to move as you will. As power lines have no energy of themselves, they are only conduits of it... let me be a channel of your love & grace today. I pray in Jesus name, amen
