Not the greatest photo but its the best we can do tonight. Our little cruelty survivor, Dixie, is home and safe, and her spay went well. We were a little nervous because she was in heat when she went in to surgery today. We weighed all of our options, and opted to go through with the spay today for a number of reasons – most predominantly because her hormones are likely exacerbating her fear and flight responses, and we want her to feel safe and secure as quickly as is possible. Shes recovering well. Still not eating, but responsive and somewhat relaxed (which is huge for her). Minnie is super concerned for her and has visited her in her crate twice now (which is also huge for Minnie). Send sweet Dixie your biggest love, please. Its been a long few weeks for her.
