Not to get al preachy but its never too late to learn something important. Turns out the KKK worships what they believe to be the 1st KKK general named Nathan Bedford Forest & to this day they regard him the highest, respect him like a God (whole sectors of KKK groups upholding an itinerary based on his design) & claim hes slaughtered 1000s of black people in the name of white freedom. Welp, truth be told he was not at all that man. A year before he was elected president of the KKK, the group was formed to fight off a powerful corrupt Carpet Bagger Governor in Memphis TN. I guess he was ruthless & the citizens realized he needed to go in fear of loosing property & wages. So they formed a social club and protested against this governor wearing the white outfits sorta looking like white shining knights much like what we see the KKK still wearing today. With great numbers they ran the governor out of town which was a huge victory for the protection of US citizens, land & life for Black, White, Asian or Spanish farmers. It was a true US protest against big biz & bad Gov. At that point neighboring cities & states had heard of the victory & decided to follow suit with probs in their communities. After the 1860s they elected Forest to lead the KKK organization. Sadly with the lack of education, the new sectors soon let the power get to their heads & they became violent. Causing general havoc & targeting anything that made money. the power had corrupted them. (sounds like a mafia like situation) So Forest realized it was turning sour & disband the KKK. (the leader they modern KKK still thinks was a heartless murder) In fact he was a visionary of justice & tried to protect the public from a now scary mob. The KKK didnt resurface until World war 1 and the depression. With a lack of jobs & poverty running wild, they realized theres more opportunities to get work if there are less people to compete with and as it turns out, Black Americans were not very educated, very religious & horrified of things like ghosts haunting them. An easy target. Socially for them at the time a ghost was the scariest thing they could imagine. Utilizing the ole KKK white sheet idea with holes for eyes to resemble ghosts, they started a scare campaign against African Americans & ran them out of towns pretty quickly. Boom, the KKK blew back up as a completely different group and yes it was a terrorist organization utilizing fear tactics & violence as an economic tool for themselves. From the 1930s to the 1950s it was broken up but when the segregation issues arose, a third version of the Clan popped up. According the Vice Documentary) It was organized the fight civil rights & appose Federal intervention. (Again out of fear of job loss to minorities) They fought equality tooth and nail. Not very educated themselves the virus of hatred against a people who had every right to go to school & learn and work along side all Americans became snarled with BS & lies & violence & in my opinion fighting against everything the USA stands for also while preaching US freedom. Today still focusing on the fears of the black community and the religious ideas of heaven & hell, they dress as ghosts that come in the night & burn crosses. Terrorizing innocent black people, churches & organizations associated with minority groups. So as you can see the true history of the clan is shrouded in rumor & folklore rather than the truth in historic facts. The KKK followers believe in this unreal passed down story made up by power hungry uneducated forefathers who have convinced themselves they know whats best and of course placing themselves at the top of that food chain. Seems so similar to primitive man but I fear there is a whole uneducated portion of the country that is still this far behind. There is no future in this. Just something to ponder in todays world of, info wars & party separation. History is full of this & its always got to do with powers on all levels socially & with the government. The info is there if you look for it. Know stuff before you say stuff.
