Not too long ago, I had an article accepted for a collection on essays on black feminism in contemporary literature; however, after further inquiries, I decided to decline the invitation and search for another home for my work. If there is one lesson that I have learned over the years, it is to do my due diligence, even if that means waiting a few years to find the perfect space to publish. Nonetheless, I found that perfect space in Lifting as We Climb: Black Women Intellectuals in U.S. History--an edited collection (edited by Hettie V. Williams of Monmouth University) forthcoming from Praeger, a publisher I have worked with on numerous projects in the past. I consider this a true blessing that my scholarship is being so widely and happily received.
