Not too long ago, some people who were in a discussion here pointed out that they destroyed wolves for enjoyment, because they were an invasive species (to the Pacific Northwest, part of the wolfs original area of dominance as top predators), and vermin. Now, aside from probably being hypocrites that would cry about snakes being destroyed for no reason, they obviously need to have a little more factual education. This isnt a herp, or venomous, but they do fall victim to the same demonization that our beloved serpents do. I say this because you cannot support conservation of one animal while endorsing the wholesale murder of another simply because you live where they lived before you, without making a mockery of yourself. Think of that the next time a photo of a rattlesnake den being gassed is going around, that people here are totally ok with, and take part in themselves, the exact same type of thing. I dont remember the names, or I would tag them.
