Notable Notes : Article # 008 Series of 11-2014 Title: NN PEOPLE IN FOCUS: FEDERALISM SUMMIT; The Fork in the Road.. Presidency or Mayoralty With all the speculations happening and all the political agendas being pushed both for and against Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who was once eyed for senatorial tickets (but strongly declined offers) and a potential running mate for many as vice president, the Dirty Harry of Davao City is now one of the strongest contenders for the presidency in 2016. The Federalism was once a move to ward of people in supporting this call for presidency but now it has turned to a massive and influential movement for a better Philippines. What will it do for this issue? Well it is the make or break day for Mayor Duterte as he will now see how the Country would react to his strongest platform of Governance in the event he will run, Federalism, if embraced by the people will be the key indicator that he is called for the seat of the highest executive office of the country. If not however, the ripple of influence being done by the father of Davao City has been proven to be for the people and not against it. So far he is the only leader that was consistent to his humble motto Ako magpabiling inyong suluguon a motto often heard from him who every criminal is afraid of but is loved by every farmer, employee, hard worker and every family that walks the safe streets of the most livable city in Asia. I am willing to go to prison for the farmers and many other colorful statements from one of the strongest political willed leader in the country and by the way, he is not all talk he also has the credentials to match it! We along with young leaders of the county will be in the summit to support the call for federalism in the country and that Davao City along with other progressive cities may feast in the bounty of their harvest and progress faster, eradicating the tempting system fostering corrupt leaders in the country. Let the strongest among them show his banner so we can prove that the Davaoeno President is ready to alter history and change the label of the country from a layer of villainous leaders into a haven of progress and safety where every family can live a happy and bountiful life! The real prize of freedom!
