#Notbornwithit This is a picture of my nephew. Looking directly at mom, smiling, and playing appropriately with bathtub toys. (Yes, he is naked, but you cant see anything because of toys/angling). Oddly enough, this is normal for all of his pictures taken before 15 months. His pictures after 15 months, and for the next 2 1/2 years? Well, that small red mark on the left side of his forehead becomes more prominent, probably because of his headbanging. The eye contact is gone. If there are any toys, they are being knocked on the floor repeatedly. What cannot be seen in those photos? That at 15 months he was saying his first 10 or so words, and those also stopped. That at 16 months he was diagnosed with severe Autism. So, what happened when he was 15 months old? His MMR, DTaP, Chickenpox, and a couple of other vaccines. Oh, and the headbanging stopped after he was put on a gluten-free diet. Through a combination of diet, supplements, and etc., weve got him up from severe Autism to Aspergers. He enjoys Pokemon, Minecraft, Star Wars, and computer programming. Past specialties include volcanoes (thats how he learned language to begin with), the animal kingdom, Lego, Harry Potter, and the Lord of the Rings. He is now 9 1/2.
