Note: Click on the HD Button for 1080p quality! Ubisoft’s “Rayman - Legends” On The PS4 - Written Review - Rayman Legends like all other Rayman games is a Action Advancer Platformer…. There’s just no other way to state it other than it’s just that. But like the original games before this, Rayman Legends takes on the role of 2D Side Scrolling elements, its not a 3D title like the most recent games, and its also the sequel to Origins. The Over All Level Designs where amazing like I said earlier it’s a 2D Side Scrolling world, the colorful backgrounds gave the game a quite unique touch to the feel of the game while it still held its over all art style to its roots way back when Rayman was introduced to the PS1. Not once did I think the levels where too difficult, or too easy, or did I ever seem to never feel board with the games layout, it always seemed to have its distinct Rayman approach…. And Ubisoft pulled it off again because of it. The Over All Game Play was quite simple, till you get to the Land of the Dead Party world, witch doesn’t unlock till you get 400 Lums and that’s when it gets extremely difficult, but hey its meant to do that, because by then you have already beaten the game, and should be at the level of experience. The Platforming was outstanding, and Ubisoft never failed to keep on reminding me that this game was a Platformer, do to the amount of deaths that happened to me, but hey most deaths where do to me figuring out the Trial and Error aspects of the game, and really there’s nothing at all wrong with that. Although some of the Boss’s where kind of OP, It never seemed like it was ever too hard for me to control my characters while fighting them. The Over All Mechanics of the game where Smooth and never once did I ever have a glitch in the game, the platforming was dead on and with the way the level designs where set up the mechanics of the game where always dead on, and trust me when I say this most games these days do not achieve the excellence that this game brings, not even other triple A titles today do this. The Over All Graphics where Average but hey that’s what’s going to happen when you get a 2D game out on a PS4 today, but never once did I not feel as though the art was dull, As the 60FPS where at a constant, and never once did the frame rate ever lag, but with the amazing 1080P display that took advantage of the PS4’s engine, the game couldn’t have looked any better than it already did and that made me a happy gamer. Unlike Most Rayman Games this game acutely doesn’t really have a storyline to it, I mean it dose but its really not emphasized enough to make a difference to the gamer playing it as really its targeted to an demographic that could really care less, but hey either way I still cared and the game still did have a Story line. And unfortunately this was really the only aspect of the game that I wished there could have been more of. But hey the over all game was FUN! And that’s what is the most important aspect of the game, and to tell you the truth there’s so much going on in the game with un-lockables, levels to beat, and online features that it kept me busy on my PS4 for at least 4 hours a day! And in doing so Ubisoft did it again while bringing me back to a franchise that I grew up with and rebooting me to see a new fresh take on a game that I feel has more potential than most PS4 games out there currently, So in doing this I give Ubisoft’s “Rayman Legends” a 9.0 out of 10 for a gaming experience that even a kid could pick up and play for hours and rarely get board of! Well as always guys that’s all I have to say in my review! So go out there and get the darn game, as its worth the 39.99 to buy! Peace Out Guys! God Bless Always! - Josh Langworthy
