Note: This is a lengthy post. Went with Kinjal Shah to cooking culture classe today for lunch. We opted for a 15 course menu and what followed was the worst food experience I have ever had. I walked out without tasting course no 6 and 7. I will go course by course. Course 1: Apricot and Orange Shot Apricot crush, orange juice, ginger juice, ginger ale, freshly crushed white pepper fizzed up with salt rimmed and garnish. Problem 1: It was not a shot, it was a tall drink Problem 2: There was no ginger juice or ginger ale Problem 3: There was no garnish Course 2: Caprese Tangy tomato with fresh fennel, lemongrass and thyme broth. Served with baby scoops of sour cheese Problem 1: There was no broth. Problem 2: Instead of baby scoops of sour cheese there were two cubes of amul cheese (the chef admitted) Basically, except for the tomato everything was missing. Course No. 3: Chefs secret Broth Tangy tomato with fresh fennel, lemongrass and thyme broth. Served with baby scoops of sour cheese Problem: Please notice the description is the same as above and obviously that wasnt served. Course No. 4 Roomali Seekh Kebab Mouth Melting Kebabs with raisins, almonds and coriander accompanied with herbed mayo dip Problem 1: Raisins and Almonds were missing Problem 2: The herbed mayo dip was missing Course No 5. Mille Feuile Layered puffed crust stuffed with creamy spinach and fresh vegetables drizzled with caper berry sauce. Problem 1: only the creamy spinach filling was there without the layered puffed crust. Problem 2: There was no caper berry sauce. Course No. 6: Baby Spinach and Rucola Salad Baby spinach, rucola, orange segments, Greek feta with caramelized walnuts, artichokes petal blanched in maple and tangerine dressing Problem 1: There was no baby spinach or rucola or orange segments or Greek feta or artichokes petal or the dressing The only thing that was there was one lone walnut (not caramelized) on a mound of lettuce. Course 7: Char Grilled Cottage Cheese Steak Cottage cheese steak marinated in homemade harissa paste, grilled and served with lemon caper sauce, cous cous and sauteed greens accompanied by garlic mash Problem 1: It was not not char grilled rather not even grilled Problem 2: There was no garlic mash Problem 3: There were sauteed vegetables the same ones served with course 5 and not greens. After this my friend and I couldnt stand it and called the chef and the manager who gave useless reasons like the ingredients were not in stock. I am aghast that ingredients like orange or herbs or mayo or garlic are ingredients that they couldnt find. This reason was given by some guy Nikhaar who is managing the restaurant. The chef in his defense said that he didnt design the menu so its not his responsibility. I feel very bad that they charge 799+tax and fool people in the name of fine dining. This is heights of irresponsibility and its not ok. I have attached pictures with the course number as well as the picture of the menu. I am so angry and disappointed.
