Note from the school of Flagler County Do you have a child, - TopicsExpress

Note from the school of Flagler County Do you have a child, grandchild, or is a child of a friend or relative of yours in Flagler County’s Schools? Of course you know that whether you have a child there or not, your taxes pay to run the system. Are you satisfied with the quality of education Flagler County schools provide? How much do you know about it? Do you care? If you are retired and think these matters don’t involve you, and you don’t care, some of us in the community can tell you many, many reasons why you should. Not only are the children our future, but they will determine the quality and abundance of that future for all of us. This year, almost as near as today, the Flagler School District must choose a new school Superintendent. Our present Superintendent, Mrs. Janet Valentine, is retiring. The new superintendent must be in place by February, 2014 in order to take advantage of the State of Florida’s School Board Association training for incoming Superintendents. On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 6pm, in the Council chambers on the first floor of the Government Services Building (GSB) on Route 100 in Bunnell, FL., School Board Member, Mr. Andy Dance will explain to all concerned, the process planned for selecting the new “Super”. We should be there! Flagler County schools are our schools. The community should care about what belongs to us and about what happens in our community. If you are a member of the community that means you should care too. Now is the perfect time to prove it. Show up for our children! Let’s pack the chamber, get informed and be involved in the process! Don’t relinquish your power as a citizen! Exercise it! Be a part of the positive changes that we can cause to happen when we care. If you aren’t there, the process will go on without you. If you don’t like what happens, you will have no leg to complain on. The community needs your awareness, your presence and participation. Please! YOU NEED TO BE THERE!
