Note: my travel ball comment was not meant that all travel ball parents are crazy. It was just meant that it is FAR from a guarantee that their kid will make it to a college team. As a matter of fact, according to Baseball America, only 10% of all Travel Ball All-Stars are even good enough to make their varsity High School Team, by the time they get old enough to try out.... The next time you pay a car payment for one of those all day, the kids play four games a day tournaments, look at the tournament field. One of those kids (in the entire tournament) statistically, will make a college team, and he has less than a 50% chance of getting a scholarship. - stats courtesy of baseball america
