Note to self: The night before Halloween is not the time to begin - TopicsExpress

Note to self: The night before Halloween is not the time to begin sewing your costume. After all, you are not Wonder Woman, nor do you have a Fairy Godmother. In addition, the mice in your house are only interested in your puppies’ stray kibbles, and not in assisting you in your last minute venture. Secondly, appliquéing a stretchy knit velveteen to a bias cut satin is a new form of insanity not yet introduced to the DSM – what are we up to now, seven? My seamstress friends may stop laughing now…and my psychology friends too. Also, I think we can skip the zipper. It’s late, I’m tired, and I have meetings tomorrow. I’ll just safety-pin – or better – sew myself into it like I did that one recital in college. I’m thinking I’ll skip the interfacing too. And in the end, not a seam was trimmed, not a curve was clipped, and not a flip was given, because all the flips went to bed hours ago – you know – at a reasonable time. It may not even see an iron tomorrow – we’ll see how I feel about the poodle-skirt-with-an-identity-crisis tomorrow. This is probably the sloppiest work I have ever done… but hey. It’s allowed on Halloween.
