Noted singer K J Yesudas says women are not to wear jeans as it is immodest and against Indian culture. Actually properly stitched, jeans is modest, convenient and good to put on. Contrarily, sari considered the traditional dress of Indian ladies is inconvenient and unsuitable as it’s not easy to wear, difficult for two wheeler riders ,not easy to wash etc While sari is profligate in the use of cloth, blouse worn with it uses scant length of cloth and fails to serve the purpose of dress. Culture is not something to be adopted blindly, but something that needs to be adapted.
