Notes from Tournament 47: Division 2 Championship Anniversary - TopicsExpress

Notes from Tournament 47: Division 2 Championship Anniversary (October 12, 2014): - One year on from crowning the first ever Div.2 Champion - weve got another one! The Secret Weapon SubScorpTile scores a big win for The Cult of Crow and his first championship in The Great Arena! When you consider SST reached the Semi Finals of the Summer Grand Slam - you couldnt call it a shock result. Still, I was looking at ICWW alum Banging as the next benchmark title holder for Division 2. I wonder if SubScorpTiles anniversary win suggests he might be the one to lock down the championship! - He mayve taken -3 dmg in the tournament final, but I think most would agree Tournament 47 confirmed the arrival of a new major player in the Division 2 ranks! Benjamin has been on the rise in 2014 and he showed some real credibility with decisive wins over Zentile, Porygonix & former champ: Shen_DuHBK! His presence in the arena will no doubt continue to sponsor a rise to the top. A matter of when - not if! - While new names were becoming established, an old one got a much needed refresher! Jammer2Omega is an old arena favourite and forebear to the Div.2 ranks. It was nice to see him fight his way into the Semi Finals! His recent foray into the Duo ranks makes it easy to forget just how hot he was as a Div.2 challenger during UGP season! With cultural sensitivities putting pressure on his partner, this looks like the perfect transition point to get J2O back in the hunt as the legitimate contender he is! - Porygonix is another classic name who showed real signs of dominating the tournament! He bullied Unknown265 into a crushing defeat, and looked just as strong taking out one of the dangermen of the tournament - avenger45! Porys been slightly adrift since Kron turned to The Horde, but this former Duo Champion could have a bright future as a major player in the Div.2 ranks. - Traditional duo fighters had a lot of influence over this tournament. Jerrod outlasted partner Killswitch, with a narrow loss to J2O in the Quarters and a win over 2-time champ NovaStarr. Dolce left Bofh in the dust, the surprise breakout of T47 with big wins over Sekktor, Jason_Voorhees & Leroy. Unknown265 may have gone down to Porygonix, but not before he shocked the world with a Round 1 win over sentimental favourite: Ken! KittyKat had a surprising charge into the Third Round, as well! It reminds just how unique and effective duo experience can be at every level.
