Notes from the piano: Greetings Yall! Between stomach - TopicsExpress

Notes from the piano: Greetings Yall! Between stomach bugs, flat tires, funerals, and a ton of young folks it has seemingly been a zoo this week at RBBC. The good news is it only gets WORSE with more groups coming in this weekend and next week. With all the things happening around here right now it is awfully easy to get caught up in the activity and not to pray for Gods Will in the lives of both the retreat attendees AND the very lives of the members of RBBC. Monday night this group had three young men pray to receive Christ. This singular event will be eternal in scope and makes the chaos worth every headache. It is our hearts desire first and foremost for folks to come to know Jesus as their Savior through being here in one of the most beautiful of Gods creations. We MUST remember its about Him and not simply about a building on a beach. This Sunday we will be having a special guest speaker in our 9 am service who is an old friend of Dr. Paul. Lawrence Phipps will be marrying off his daughter on Saturday and staying to lead us in the early service. The choir WILL be singing and the building will be filled. The real importance is the last sentence in my previous paragraph. It must ALWAYS be about Him. Ive been burdened lately with the words of Solomon in Psalm 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. RBBC as it stands today is a tribute to Gods continuing faithfulness to us and the efforts of those who have gone before us. It will only remain if we remember all that we do is about Him and to lead others to a life changing experience through Jesus. A priority lesson I and the rest of us at RBBC must learn is we must learn to ask in faith BELIEVING for our Heavenly Father to reveal His Will. We claim to be a church that believes in prayer as do most churches but the question rises do we ask believing? I, for one, know a lot about asking and having faith, but kinda fall short on the believing stuff until God knocks me off my feet with an answer even more profound than I could ever have expected. RBBC has been through some tough times in its past which is generally a good thing because is shows Satan is fighting and he wouldnt bother us unless it is a battle worth winning. The membership was down a couple of years ago to about 13 when those folks stepped out in faith BELIEVING and called me AND a month later Reatha not even knowing if they would be able to give us a salary. God provided. I wish I could say and the rest is history but RBBC is still in serious need of disciples and financing even to make it the remainder of 2014. Yes, I know what God orders he pays for and have no doubt whatsoever what He orders will be the best for all of us. I just pray His Plans are for us to get out from under this incredible financial burden so even more can be ministered to whether they live in Orange Beach or California. We are a mission church in numbers with a mega church facility - including the indebtedness. This year after all the retreats we have scheduled we will be down over 30% financially from last year and it is my understanding last year was the first year the church has broken even since entering this building. Unless the Lord builds this house by adding disciples and lays it on the hearts of folks who have caught the vision of the things God DOES at RBBC we labor in vain. Please remember RBBC in your prayers as individuals and churches. In just a few short years literally hundreds of thousands of different folks from around the globe have discovered the love of our Lord here at this lighthouse. We MUST remain faith-filled believing He will send disciples - and soon. God bless and see ya this week! Singcerely, ~Chris
